Meaning the remover of sorrows, it is traditionally used for treating
gynecological disorders ensuring a healthy uterus. Sita, the wife of Lord Rama
was held captive in a grove of Ashoka trees after being freed, thus instilling
the ability for this wondrous herb to eliminate pain and discomfort.
